父親節是一個為了感謝父親的節日，全世界大部份的國家如美國、日本、中國是在 6 月的第 3 個星期日慶祝父親節，台灣的父親節則是8 月 8 日，因為「爸爸」跟「八八」的發音很像，所以在台灣父親節也叫「爸爸節」或是「八八節」。
世界各國的父親節不都在同一天，也有各式各樣的的慶祝方式，不過大多都是跟家人聚餐、從事家庭活動、或贈送禮物。
全世界大部份的國家是在 6 月的第 3 個星期日慶祝父親節，但也有在其他日子慶祝的，例如玻利維亞、宏都拉斯、義大利、葡萄牙、西班牙都在 3 月 19 日聖若瑟節慶祝父親節，巴西是在 8 月的第二個禮拜日，泰國是在12月5日。不同的是，南韓沒有父親節也沒有母親節，但是有一個給父母雙親慶祝的「雙親節」，日期是5 月 8 日。

La mayoría de los países en el mundo como EE.UU., Japón y China celebrant el Día del Padre el tercer domingo de junio, sin embargo en Taiwán la fecha es 8 de agosto, dado que 爸爸 suena parecido a 88 y es por eso que en Taiwán el Día del Padre también se llama 爸爸節 o 八八節.
El Día del Padre de cada país no es de la misma fecha y la forma de celebrar es distinta, en mayor caso hacer un banquete con la familia, tener actividades familiares o dar regalos.
En el mundo la mayor de los países se celebra este día el tercer domingo de junio, pero también en otras fechas. Por ejemplo, en Bolivia, Hounduras, Italia, Portugal y España se celebra el día 19 de marzo, el Día de San José. En Brazil es el segundo domingo de agosto mientras en Tailandía es el día 5 de diciembre. Lo más inusual es que en Korea del Sur no hay Día de la Madre ni del Padre, pero se celebra el Día de los Padres.

Father’s Day is a day to give thanks to the fathers. Most countries in the world such as USA, China and Japan celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, but in Taiwan it is on 8 of August. This is because 爸爸 sounds very similar to 88, and therefore Father’s Day is also called 爸爸節 or 八八節.
Father’s Day is not on the same day in every country and there are also various ways to celebrate it, mostly by feasting with family, having family activities or giving gifts.
Even though in most countries of the world Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June, some countries celebrate it on other dates. For example, in Bolivia, Honduras, Italy, Portugal and Spain it is celebrated on 19 March, St. Joseph’s Day. In Brazil it is on the second Sunday of August while in Thailand it’s on 2 December. What’s unusual is that in South Korea there is neither Mother, nor Father’s Day, but Parents’ Day is celebrated for both father and mother. The date is 8 May.
From June to December Father’s day is celebrated in different parts of the world and in Taiwan 8 August of every year is chosen to thank fathers for their dedication and sacrifice.
